The Irony of Laughter

Oh America, why are you so hooked on entertainment?

Why will many Americans pay millions and billions each year for football, cable TV and movies while sitting back, complaining about lack of funds, rant about terrible news reporting and grumble about the mess we are in?

Why aren’t you turning off the television that makes you so angry? What is keeping you from boycotting all the yellow journalism?

Many American’s know good and well what this nation has become. If you are reading this you are probably not a part of that nation. A nation, a people, a society, a generation that only knows how to deal with pain and suffering through “checking out” at the end of the day with a good TV show or exciting movie?

How have we become so entertainment-focused? Have we forgotten the need and the importance of community? Have we become so comfortable that talking to or relating to another human is now a nuisance and the thought of going out of our way for someone is something deemed worthy to hold a grudge over?

The amount of emotional disconnect through all the digital connections is breeding a dangerous sense of self-righteous hate from digitally-directed influence. We are not far off from being a society that allows its pundits to dictate who we deem as scapegoats. We are closer to WWIII in our mentality than many realize and many Americans are only laughing at a meme on the internet that should be sounding off alarm bells in all of us.

Because this isn’t just a meme. This is sign of a continuation of a value system.

That symbols is the symbol of tyranny which for some reason has become an acceptable measure of leadership. The smooth-talk we hear from our president is meant to divide, not unite, as is the same with Trump. He says nice things many red-blooded American’s want to hear but it only divides us further. The goal is the same with both of them-divide a nation for more personal power.

They are both cocky opportunists that believe in nothing but themselves. They may prefer one people group over another, but their backbones are lacking.

They even sound the same when talking about their confidence of election watch here and here.

Obama has been an entertainer and after all America has been through this last year, I am confounded that America is entertaining the thought of electing another puppet.

So, how much longer will America entertain entertainment? How much longer will we let entertainment divide us?

That symbol from Obama’s campaign is a symbol of destruction. Being the leader of the Free World used to be a noble title, until it was brought low by a class act that fooled so many. This title as President of the United State should intrigue awe and respect, rather than ridicule and mockery.

This symbol is not a joke. It’s a sign for the wise of those who see it which is a continuation of a curse if Trump is elected our next leader.

So folks, this isn’t a joke. This is a continuation of a trend that has cost the lives of millions and millions of unborn babies, the lives of thousands of Christians being killed in the Middle East, invasions under the guise of “refugee crises,” growing military and police hate as this administration and celebrities fuel a coming civil war and the list goes on. Can America still turn this symbol into an upside down smiley face with the infamous blonde side-sweep and still laugh? Obama represents a reactionary value system that needs to be severed immediately now that his true intentions have been revealed. But now is not the time for reaction, but pro-action.

I guarantee a one month boycott on American cable will result in real broadcasting change. I can assure you that changing your everyday habits away from television and internet will constitute power in the long haul

And to have that power takes discipline in the present of every moment. James 2:20-22

.. . faith without works is useless?  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?  You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;

Why do you think Jesus referred to that “faith” that moves mountains as “small as a mustard seed?” Because it was works in the small things that created faith big enough to move mountains in the big things!

You want to be “radical” for Jesus… that is how you do it. Turn off your tunes at the gym and be present. Shut off the talk radio in the car and listen for God’s voice. I can almost guarantee you will be more informed of the world around you through his revelations than listening to many of these media icons.

Revelation 19:10

…For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

So if you bear the witness of Yeshua, you will have the gift of prophecy, in some form or fashion.

Don’t be afraid to change your life in the details. Exorcise discipline in the small things that no one notices right away. Remember, if you start walking three times a week, you will lose inches. It may take a week to notice, but you will. So the more you put into changing your routine, the more positive outcomes you will have.

The same goes for searching for God fervently. It’s not just about reading your Bible, but searching for answers with God in the intimate things, that make way for great revelations in the public things.

Christians don’t be afraid to be different.

But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim (priesthood), a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. ( I Peter 2:9, CJB)

Don’t be ashamed of turning off the TV and disconnecting your cable for a time. Don’t be worried about doing push-ups during a 10 minute break at work! Open up your Bible app on your smartphone while waiting at the doctor’s office rather than social media or the news. The clarity might be alarming at first, but I assure you, it’s well worth it.

Be the difference

Do the impossible.

See the results.

And by all means, let’s have discernment to get way from the masses and stand for truth and to vote for someone willing to stand up for truth.
